Several security alerts were signalled today in Bucharest, as the Bucharest 2008 NATO Summit treats important issues on the international agenda. Thus, a bomb alert was signalled at the Bucharest hypermarket Cora in Lujerului area.

A 112 emergency call announced the presence of the bomb, Romanian local television Realitatea TV announces. Police officers determined that the person called near an important penitenciary in Bucharest. However, the police did not determine if the individual is imprisoned at the penitenciary or not.

Another event that alerted security forces was a garbage bag which was dumped downtown Bucharest, near the designated VIP lane. However, the bag proved safe and did not cause any security threats.

Moreover, in the morning, an incendiary glass attack was signalled at a local gas station, near one hotel where NATO officials were staying. Police forces declared that only one person was injured and the attacker will be soon identified through the camera's of the gas station.
