A nine year old child in Romania suffered a surgical intervention of appendicitis despite that he had another diagnostic, Romanian news agency NewsIn informs. The boy was brought for an exam but due to an error of the medical team, he was operated, medical sources inform.

Sources argue that the boy was taken to the operating room without being asked any questions. Moreover, it seems that the boy's chart was missing from his bedside, thus the assistant could not read the boy's medical history and signal the error in time.

Grigore Alexandrescu Hospital manager Coriolan Ulmeanu admitted the medical error and said that sanctions were applied to all the medical personnel involved in the case. The sanction rules a 15% salary cut for three months.
