Romania's Court of Accounts has notified the Bucharest Tribunal about an illegal payment of payment boosts amounting to over 100,000 euro made by Bucharest District 1 mayor Andrei Chiliman. The notification comes two days after Chiliman was reelected in office in Romania's second round of local elections on Sunday.

The case is due to open on June 19 and the Court demanded the tribunal to recover the money from Andrei Chiliman and Nicolae Grigorescu, a secretary for the District 1 town hall, who also faces charges.

Chiliman is charged with illegally paying District 1 town hall employees some 4 million ROL (more than 100,000 euro) in loyalty payments.
