The Romanian National Supreme Defense Council (CSAT) decided on Wednesday to reduce the amount of effectives available in 2009 for missions outside Romania. Compared to 2008, the Romanian Army Forces that may participate in international missions will have 541 troops less, a press release of the Presidency informs.

CSAT also approved the sending of 15 Police officers in the UN-led MONUK mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo. During the same session, CSAT decided to define the railroad and highway European corridors IV and IX as national and European priorities.
