Over 1,200 employees in the Interior and Administration Reform Ministry were investigated for corruption acts during the fist 6 months on the year, out of which 193 were formally indicted. 49 of them are in leading positions, while 144 have executive attributions, the data at the General Anti-Graft Department indicate.

According to the balance sheet for the first half of 2008, anti-graft officers investigated 1,774 individuals, 1,205 being employees of the Interior Ministry. The criminal investigation was formally opened in 174 files.
