PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu: Romania may become the 7th or 8th economy in Europe before 2014

If the current trends continue, Romania may become the 7th of 8th economy in Europe in 2014, said Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu on Tuesday, showing that ambition and emancipation must replace the modesty and complexes before 1989. The prime minster demanded Romanian ambassadors to give up the self-sufficiency and the show-off diplomacy and promote Romania's interests more efficiently in other states, mainly by supporting the abroad investment projects of Romanian companies.

Tariceanu declared repeatedly this year that he has the ambition to transform Romania in the seventh economy in the EU, according to its population size and surface.

The head of government on the need to have the embassies involved in promoting the Romanian companies and to emphasize the importance of the Constanta port.
