Journalist Liviu Mihaiu could be, starting October, the new Danube Delta governor, replacing thus Paul Cononov, Romanian daily Evenimentul Zilei informs, quoting Mediafax. Present in a talk show last night, Liviu Mihaiu did not deny the information.

However, he did not offer any information regarding the subject. Mihaiu is currently leader of the Association Salvati Delta that undertook various environmental safe projects. Currently, Environment ministry officials refuse to comment the information. The Ministry's press office could not deny nor confirm the information.

The Danube Delta governor has a state secretary status and is named by the Government.
