The 2009 budget will be one of development and investments, accompanied by a stimulating fiscal policy, Romania's PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu declared on Wednesday after the government's meeting. He added that next year's budget should be oriented to support Romania's further economic development and not for consumption.

Thus, the PM said that all administrative budgetary spending will be cut off in order to have more money directed to more important sectors. Moreover, he added that next year, Romania will witness a 6% increase of GDP.
