Teachers' salaries increase by 9% starting October 1, a direct consequence of the increase of the GDP and labor productivity, Education minister announced on Thursday. He added that if the macro-indicators would not increase, the salary increase would have been only at 6%, as it happened in April 2008, Romanian news agency NewsIn informs.
Meanwhile, Social Democrats urge the President that on Friday, the deadline expires for the 50% teachers' salary increase draft to be promulgated. Moreover, they draw the President's attention that the Constitutional Court ruled that the bill is constitutional, a press release of the party reads.
Social Democratic members declared that the President should have passed the law a long time ago, and his attitude on the subject reflects the interest he has for professors.
