Romania does not plan to get involved in between Israel and Palestine, Romanian President Traian Basescu declared after meeting the Palestinian Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas. Abbas declared that Romania could have the necessary qualification to get involved in negotiations, Romanian news television Realitatea TV informs.

Abbas's visiting agenda includes talks with the two Parliament speakers and the leader of the Muslim community in Romania. Abbas invited his Romanian counterpart to visit Palestine. On the meeting's agenda between the two, there was the status of Lebanon and the Iranian nuclear program.
