The unions in the Health Care system and the railroads announced that they will cancel or postpone their protests, settling for the promises made by the Government. Wages in the two areas will grow 10%, instead of the 50% demanded and there will be some supplementary sums offered for railroad infrastructure development, but the exact amount will be announced next week. The decision comes after the Government decided to approve another important demand, the retrocession of properties belonging to the former UGSR (The General Association of Romanian Unions, a Communist organization) to the main union federations. Specialists estimate that the properties involved add up to some 500 million Euros.

Properties include sport and recreational centers, hotels, stadiums and cultural centers. In the past few years, 400 apartments, single-room apartments, garages and other real estate possessions were sold by unions, although they didn't have any property rights.

The remaining properties are 51 cultural halls, 19 union clubs, 17 recreational and health care facilities, 34 headquarter buildings and 344 sport centers.
