Romania's Senate will decide on the introduction of electronic passports. Last week's debate on Wednesday did not meet the necessary number of votes and if this will also be the case, the emergency ordinance will be approved tacitly. Also on Monday, a new protest will be organized by a religious Orthodox group even if the Interior Ministry assured that the number 666 will not appear in the documents.

Passports General Department chief Aurel Vasile Sime declared that the new electronic passport does not contain the 666 number, and the information stocked on the passport are the facial image and the digital fingerprint of two fingers.
