Transports ministry plans to lay off some 12,139 employees in the railway system, according to the restructuring schedule presented to their union representatives, a press release of the National Commercial Railway Federation reads.
The Federation considers that it will oppose these plans and will use every legal means to maintain all jobs. The program registers the lay off of 5,949 employees of CFR Marfa, 2,545 of CFR Calatori and 3,536 of CFR S.A.
Transports ministry officials, contacted by HotNews.ro could not offer any details regarding their program and declared that Transports minister Radu Berceanu will meet on Monday will Union members.
