The feasibility study for the second nuclear plant was finished and the best four locations are in Brasov, Sibiu, Cluj and Arad - in Central and West Romania, ex Nuclear Agency president Valica Gorea declared for NewsIn.

He explained that the most suitable in the Brasov county and the studies took into account the need to have a river nearby, the seismic history of the area, the soil composition, climate, humidity and air currents studies.

The study was worth 3,580 million Romanian Ron, that were paid from structural funds destined for industrial developments, Gorea said. According to him, investments in the nuclear sector are very profitable, because costs are covered in 12-15 years time - half the time that it takes for alternative sources to pay off.
