Romania is bringing the state’s report regarding the child rights in front of the United Nations Organisation Committee on Friday. The report needs to show progress Romania has made in handling the child protection in the case of abuse, neglect, exploitation and in facilitating medical services.

According to radio channel Radio Romania Actualitati, the problems the Romanian authorities are facing will also be underlined.

The few specialists Romania has are not supported by the local councils. Plus, the child protection services’ efficiency is very low in Romania. Authorities need to deal with problems like teenage pregnancy or suicide, drug abuse, child and youth mental health.

The law proposed by the Romanian Parliament aims to implement care services for the children whose parents are working during daytime. The authorities’ ambition is to make babysitting or educational services available to those, according to their needs.
