Veteran Romanian actor Jean Constantin, 81, was transferred to intensive care at a Bucharest hospital on Thursday after he suffered a heart attack, news channel Antena 3 reports. Constantin was first hospitalized with heart complications in a Constanta hospital last Friday.

Doctors announced at the time his health condition was stable and did not pose major problems.

Jean Constantin has played in over 50 films in his career and made a name for himself by playing comic characters in some of Romania's most appreciated films and series - comedies and adventure films - of the communist era.
