Mircea Lucescu, the Romanian coach of Ukrainian football team Shakhtar Donetsk, has been hospitalized with a heart condition in Ukraine, Shakhtar club manager Sergey Palkin said, quoted by Ukrainian media. Lucescu refused to be taken to Switzerland as he was offered, opting for Ukrainian doctors.

The announcement was made shortly after the club presented its new official equipment. The club official said he was called by Lucescu on Wednesday who said he was feeling well, but said the doctors recommended Lucescu two weeks of pause.

Romanian sports publication ProSport.ro has reported Lucescu suffered a heart attack on his return from Austria to Ukraine, but the information was not officially confirmed.
