Pope Benedict XVI was hospitalized on Friday, at Aosta Hospital for medical investigations, ANSA news agency informs. The Italian news agency did not publish any information regarding the state of health of the Pope.

UPDATE 1: Pope Benedict XVI suffered a minor fall while he was vacationing in North Italy but the news agency announced that it is nothing serious, quoting Pope's spokesperson Federico Lombardi.

UPDATE 2: Pope Benedict was transported to the hospital for further investigations, ANSA informed.

UPDATE 3: Pope Benedict suffered a minor fracture at the right hand, a press release of the Vatican informed, AFP reads.

Aged 82 Pope Benedict XVI was chosen Pope on April 19, 2005.
