A Romanian DC++ user, arbitrarily chosen was compelled to pay 2,950 euro as civil damages to the music industry for sharing on the internet copyright music, a press release of the Romanian Music Association reads. The Association considered that the user did not respect its rights.

On October 14, 2008, the Association sued the internet user and requested 2,950 euro for 295 shared files. Of a total 210.13 GB shared by the internet user, 66 GB represented music files and some belonged to the Association.

The coordinator of the case, George Cracea declared that this case is an example for those using DC++. Currently, he said, there are several actions against users sharing non copy righted material.
