It is time to act, not argue, is the message of the US Ambassador to Bucharest Mark Gitenstein for Romanian authorities. He recommended politicians that after elections, all parties should seek harmony and understanding, Romanian news agency NewsIn informs.

It is my duty, as US Ambassador to convince citizens to continue the revolution they started, Ambassador Gitenstein said. He added that Romania, just like America, needs to aspire to a rule of law and not a rule where policies and laws depend on the parties holding the majority.

In the same context, he added that the country should aspire to understanding and harmony instead of struggle. For him, acting means reforming the public sector on five areas: a modern, multi-annual and mandatory budget for the government, a capable administration, a professional judicial system, an independent press and a nation where civil liberties and minorities are respected.
