The number of deaths recorded in Romania in patients infected with the AH1N1 virus reached 92. Forty-four new patients have been tested positive for swine flu during the last two days, according to the latest survey published by Romanian Health Ministry.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Romania, 6,218 patients have been affected by the new flu. Thousands of people got the jab on Saturday and Sunday and the number of people wanting to get the vaccinated increased spectacularly during the last week, after actor Toni Tecuceanu died from complications following him getting the swine flu.

13,000 people have been vaccinated only in Bucharest this weekend in the four vaccination centres, the health Ministry informs. According to the source, Bucharest has now 22 vaccination centres open especially for those who aren't listed with a GP or who do not have a health insurance. This category can get the jab at:

  • Fundeni Clinic Institute
  • Cantacuzino Institute (11am to19)
  • The Public Health Institute (13-19)
  • 18 surgeries – under the authority of the local council.

Another vaccination centre was opened on Monday at the University Passage and moved on Tuesday in Piata Unirii.
