A final decision regarding the calendar of the protests will be announced on Wednesday at 2PM when union leaders will meet with Finance minister Vladescu. According to a union leader, Marius Petcu, the confederation he represents, CNSLR Fratia, is ready to launch a general protest on May 31, but a common position will be released on Wednesday.

Union leaders said that the general protest will be upheld by companies from the private sector. Unions from Dacia Renault will also attend the protest, union leaders declared.

Unions are against the government's austerity measures. PM Boc declared on Tuesday after the meeting with the President that the intent letter to the IMF needs to be approved by the government and then the executive will decide when they will assume responsibility for the law implementing the measures.
