Romanian weather experts announce the first hot weather weekend this summer. Plains areas would be the most expected, especially along the Danube, where temperatures are to reach 36-37 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures would be even higher on Saturday, while on Sunday weather may be cooler in North Romania. High temperatures are expected to affect the country next week as well, especially in the first part.

People must avoid long periods of sun exposure between 11.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m..

UPDATE Romanian weather experts issued on Friday a yellow code warning for hot weather for the period of June 12, 12 p.m. - June 13, 6 p.m. The yellow code means that expected weather phenomena are normal for an area or period but can temporarily become dangerous for certain activities.
