Censorship motion fails to be passed by parliament. Boc Cabinet escapes reshuffle

The vote on the censorship motion against the Romanian Government's austerity measures concluded. The Parliament failed to pass the motion. 10 MPs from the parties in power voted in favour. The motion needed 236 votes to pass, but it raised a close 231. The austerity measures will be enforced after publication in the Official Gazette, with salaries in the public sector being cut by 25% and pensions, by 15%. Other consequences address drastic cuts in the public sector, including social benefits.
