314 persons will swear in on Monday, August 16 to get Romanian citizenship, Romania's National Authority for Citizenship declared in a press release. The Committee resolved from the beginning of the year 18,487 requests.
Of these, 17,532 concerning citizenship by those who, because of external reasons lost the Romanian citizenship and 746 were submitted by people who gave up their citizeship while 209 requests were formulated by people who never had Romanian citizenship. The committee said that this year alone they had 54,197 requests for citizenship.
