Romania's Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committees will demand more information from the Romanian Foreign Affairs ministry and to other Romanian authorities about the espionage scandal in Moscow, involving Romanian diplomat Gabriel Grecu, Senate's Foreign Affairs Committee President Titus Corlatean declared on Tuesday.

He said that even if this is not on the agenda of the two committees, Parliamentarians will debate the subject because it is clearly related to the foreign policy issues. He added that an aspect to monitor is whether Russian authorities breached the Vienna Convension, regarding diplomatic relations.

On Monday, Romanian diplomat Gabriel Grecu was temporarily arrested by the Russian secret services and accused of espionage. He was released shortly and declared persona non grata. Grecu has to leave the country within 48 hours.

Grecu was first secretary of the political department of the Romanian Embassy to Moscow.
