About 3,300,000 pupils and pre-school pupils start, on Monday the classes for the 2010-2011 school year. Over 220,000 are first grade pupils and 500,000 are pre-school children. Classes will be taught by 250,000 professors.
In a declaration for Realitatea TV news television, Education minister Funeriu assured that in 2011 profesors will not be forced to take unpaid leaves and the school year will proceed normally.
According to the structure of the new year, pupils start school on September 13 2010 and end on June 17, 2011.
