Romania needs a new law on education and the government and parliament need to find a solution for the conflict on this issue, European Commissioner for Education Androulla Vassiliou declared.
She underlined that journalists should not ask her to get involved in internal matters but her advice is that the government should find a solution for the problem. Dialogue can resolve all problems, she said.
Vassiliou underlined that the 2020 Europa Strategy focuses on educatin because member states realized that EU needs to invest in the field to recover from the economic crisis. According to the European commisioner, unemployement is very high among youngsters because most of them do not have the necessary education to get a job. She said that by 2020, the objective is to decrease the unemployment to 10% from 14%.
