The motion of censure on the 2011 budgetary salaries was rejected on Monday in the Parliament. The motion met only 190 votes for to the 236 necessary. On Thursday morning, the motion of censure on the general law on budgetary salaries will be debated and voted.

The vote was secret. 411 Senators and Deputies were present in the room at the moment the motion was submitted for a vote but there are 190 votes in favor for the motion, out of a total of 236 votes needed.

Governmental coalition representatives did not express their vote on the motion even though they were present in the room. The law of the 2011 budgetary salaries, for which the government took responsibility in the Parliament is considered adopted after the motion of censure was rejected and will be enforced starting January 1, 2011.

The opposition however announced that they will attack the normative text at the Constitutional Court.
