Judge Camelia Bogdan, the judge assigned to sit on businessman and media mogul Sorin Ovidiu Vantu’s trial in which he is indicted for helping Romanian fugitive Nicolae Popa escape the 15 year sentence, decided to call to the Floreasca hospital to verify whether the businessman is really hospitalized there.
UPDATE Sorin Ovidiu Vantu arrived at the hospital around 13:30PM for investigations and was hospitalized at the Cardio Section around 15:40 PM after the results of the tests came, the hospital’s spokesperson Bogdan Oprita declared.
Vantu’s lawyers justified the absence of the businessman saying that he was kept at hospital after he went to have a shot. Judge Camelia Bogdan said that Vantu is compelled to be present at each term of the trial and his absence needs to be justified with papers, in this case, from the hospital.
