Communications ministry owing about 46% of Romtelecom, the biggest telecom operator in Romania, will cash in dividends o the net profits of the company worth 43.5 million euro, the minister announced on Monday. In January this year, Romtelecom shareholders approved the distribution of dividends from the net profit of the company from 2006 and 2007 worth 94.75 million euro.
The two shareholders of Romtelecom are OTE International Investments LTD, Greece with a participation of 4.01% and the Romanian Communications Ministry with 45.99% shares. For 2008 and 2009 dividends worth 27.4 million euro were distributed and the state cashed in already 12.6 million euro.
