Radu Marginean the national customs chief indicted in the Halmeu Customs file, was dismissed by the Prime Minister, the government’s spokesperson Ioana Muntean announced on Wednesday following a meeting of the Prime Minister with the National Fiscal Administration chief Sorin Blejnar, news agency Mediafax reports.

The government’s spokesperson Ioana Muntea said that Marginean was laid off due to his indictment in the Halmeu customs file. Several hours before the official announcement, ANAF chief Sorin Blejnar declared that Marginean was not dismissed and that he is waiting a written statement from the anti-graft prosecutors regarding the status of the case after which a decision regarding Marginean will be taken.
