Tourism minister Elena Udrea: Romanian tourism managed to pull out from the crisis Romania’s tourism managed to pull itself out from the crisis because according to National Statistics Institute both hotels and tourism agencies registered an increase in their GDP contribution in all quarters, last year, news agency Mediafax reports.

In the latest data, GDP contribution for 2010 of tour operators had a 14.9% increase in the first quarter, 8.2% increase in the second, 24.1% increase in the third and 37.2% in the last quarter, Tourism and Development minister Elena Udrea said in a press conference. She added that hotels and restaurants registered significant increases last year as well.

I hope this increase will consolidate the sector and will continue to grow to be able to speak of a relaunch of the sector.
