Fifteen police officers at Romania's Albita border point received 29-day arrest warrants under charges of bribe taking on Tuesday morning. According to Romanian news channel Realitatea TV, hearings in their case lasted throughout the night. The decision may be challenged at the High Court of Justice.

Another group, of 25 border police officers, were retained on Monday evening.

According to prosecutors, the police officers claimed and received bribes for turning a blind eye on crimes and irregularities at the border point.

Several law enforcement teams raided Albita customs point in Vaslui, East Romania on Monday morning. 53 border police were retained, including border point police chief Daniel Corban.
