The head of Romania's fiscal authority ANAF, Sorin Blejnar, said on Monday he was "in no way" considering resignation given that he has implemented the single income statements successfully and contributed to the fight against corruption in Romania. His statement comes as he is under attack after a Romanian customs official retained last week alleged Blejnar was involved in corruption schemes at Romanian customs.

Blejnar was quoted by Mediafax news agency as claiming that media pressure on him was politically linked and that he had no reason to consider resigning from his position.

A state counselor of the Romanian prime minister said in a TV show on Sunday that ANAF head Sorin Blejnar has been verified by PM Emil Boc's Control Body.
