Leader of the European Socialists, Martin Schultz will ask for Adrian Severin’s resignation as European Parliamentarian and if he will refuse, an exclusion procedure will be started, Schultz’s spokesperson Armin Machmer declared for the Romanian news agency Mediafax.

Schultz will ask Romanian MEP Severin to resign just like the other two MEPs did, Machmer said adding that before anything else, Schultz will hear our Severin’s version of the scandal in which three MEPs including Romanian MEP Adrian Severin were ready to sell their services with up to 100.000 euro in exchange of passing amendments favorable to the journalists claiming to be lobbyists who contacted the MEPs.

Machmer said that the Socialists and Democrats cannot fire Severin, they can only recommend him to resign.
