PSD leader Victor Ponta declared on Monday afternoon that he is still waiting Severin’s resignation, implying that if this will not happen, his exclusion is almost sure. I have never done anything that would use my statute of MEP to obtain extra revenues and nobody proved this, Severin said.

He added that he did not take money to promote amendments and did not influence anybody in their decisions. Shortly after The Sunday Times released its investigation accusing three MEPs including Romanian MEP of accepting money to change laws in the EP, Adrian Severin announced that he withdraws from the European Socialists group and from any public functions he has in the Social Democratic Party.

Meanwhile, the European Parliament launched an investigation and Adrian Severin’s office was sealed.
