Romania’s Justice ministry was informed by the Argentianian Justice ministry that authorities at Buenos Aires opened an investigation in the case of Romanian Radu Pintilie who died on January 8 this year after an accident he suffered in penitentiary number 5 in Santa Rosa city.

Pintilie, aged 26, died in the Argentinian penitentiary in a fire after his mattress caught fire. He was sentenced to four years and a half of prison time for drug trafficking. Authorities ensured that they will take all expertise and investigations into account with all the efficiency needed.

On January 12, 2011, Romania’s Justice minister sent an official address to his Argentinian counterpart, Julio Cesar Alak regarding an investigation, considering that Pintilie died in suspicious conditions.
