Eurostat, the European statistics institute doubts the quality of some data sent by Romania regarding its budgetary deficit, more specifically the European institute accuses possible errors regarding data related to Termoelectrica and CFR Marfa state owned companies. Bloomberg agency took over the information but officials of the Romanian National Statistics Institute declared for HotNews.ro that Eurostat expressed its doubt regarding some data from Great Britain, Greece in the previous years.

The government decided on April 20, 2011 to check the quality of the information sent to Eurostat. Romanian Public Finance ministry officials, including representatives of the national central bank and representatives of the statistics institute are checking the data.
