The European Parliament gave a green light to Romania and Bulgaria to join Schengen, saying that the two countries met all necessary conditions to join, according to the evaluation reports, a press release of the European legislative reads, remitted to HotNews.ro.

EP however demands extra measures at Turkey’s border with Turkey and Greece to face a possible increase in immigration, the document reads. The approval of the EP, adopted with a large majority (487 MEPs voted for, 77 against and 29 abstained) will be sent to the Interior Affairs and Justice Council that meets on Thursday in Brussels.

Even though some problems will require a periodical report and an increase attention in the future, these are not obstacles to block the two. The integration decision will have to be taken by the council, through aa unanimous vote from all governments of the states already part of Schengen.
