Hungarian Democrats, part of the governing coalition warn that they will not sustain in the Parliament the Democratic Liberal draft law on territorial reorganization of the country in eight big regions. Hungarian Democratic President Kelemen Hunor said that the issue has not been discussed in the coalition but his party cannot accept it. Deputy Prime Minister, former Hungarian Democrats president said that the union will not accept the proposal of PDL. On Friday, PDL’s general secretary Ioan Oltean announced that the government will take responsibility for the normative act that splits Romania in eight big regions.

It is hard to believe that the government will manage to pass the draft law, Hunor said. He underlined that his party will not accept the law. He said his party is open for talks, for compromises but that they cannot accept the proposal as it is now. Hungarian Democrats wish to see the counties dominated by the Hungarian minority in one region.
