Anti graft prosecutors indicted 41 police and customs officers, of which 1 of them is in temporary arrest already from the Moravita customs, West Romania accused of being involved in cigarrettes smuggling from Serbia whose value is about 3.3 million euro. The accused either joined, supported the oranized crime network.
In exchange of a sum of money, almost daily police and customs officers would close their eyes on the cigarrettes smuggling from Serbia. Generally, customs and police officers would receive betwen 100 and 900 euro per shift.
