The official site of the International Amateur Box Association (AIBA) announces the life-long exclusion from official competitions of three Romanian boxers who were caught stealing in a shop in Chicago, where they were supposed to take part in the World Championships.
The three were named on the Association’s website: Marius Bogdan Dinu, Ronald Gavril si Gabriel Julian Stan.
According to AIBA, the boxers were already sent home as they were eliminated from the tournament.
Romanian Boxing Federation head Rudel Obreja publicly apologized for the incident.
