Luni, 23 iulie 2007, 0:00

Europe became the bearer of meteorological paradoxes with temperatures reaching 42 degrees Celsius in the South while the North is facing violent tornadoes and storms.

Britain is facing extreme weather conditions with heavy rain and violent storm as local authorities summoned military aviation forces to assist the population.

Poland was also affected by a tornado, an extremely rare phenomenon in Europe. Local televisions presented images with roofs torn apart or broken cars.

In Romania, temperatures are over 40 degrees Celsius causing so far the death of 9 persons.

Moreover, Bulgarian woods burn in the Southern part of the country while its neighbor Greece fights the warmest summer in the last century.

Due to high temperatures, rail traffic was seriously affected in Hungary.
