The Hornbach group, owner of the construction materials and gardening tools stores chain, will invest 200 million euros in Romania before 2015, in order to open at least 10 hypermarkets in the major cities, company officials declared, according to NewsIn.

The first Hornbach store will open on June 20, 2007, and will cover 24,000 square meters in Bucharest. The space includes 9,000 square meters for construction materials, 5,000 for gardening tools and 10,000 square meters for as drive-in, allowing customers to bring their cars near the shelves, for easier loading.

Hornbach invested over 25 million euros in its first store. The second store in Bucharest will open most probably within an year.
