Democrat leaders declared on Friday that the party will not leave the governing alliance and will never negotiate with the Social-Democrat opposition. The head of the party, Emil Boc, said the position of the party hasn’t changed in any way: either in the alliance, or in Opposition, in case the Democrat ministers are replaced by PM Tariceanu.

Boc reminded the recent polls, indicating that the Democrat ministers are the best in the Government: “without Vasile Blaga and Monica Macovei (note: the Interior and the Justice ministers), Romania wouldn’t have been accepted in the European Union. Polls also show that the two enjoy the popular support”.
