The owner of the UEFA semi-finalist Steaua football team answered prosecutors’ question on Friday, as a witness in a case involving the dubious purchase of four players from the brothers Mihailescu’s company Extensiv. The two siblings have been under arrest for three months due to financial wrongdoings.

Becali said he only knew of one player that had been purchased from Mihailescus in 2000, Mirel Radoi, currently the team captain of Steaua. He mentioned he had no knowledge about the other three players in question, as their contracts had been signed before he bought Steaua.

Eugen and Nicu Mihailescu have been under arrest for three months for illegal alcohol trade and financial wrongdoings.
