Hydrologic forecasts warning of a massive Danube flow expected in the coming days prompted a reunion of the National Committee for Emergency Situations on Wednesday to tackle this threat.

The Environment minister informed that the Danube flow level was of 12,200 cm/second, up 50 percent compared to the normal April quota. The flooding levels have been exceeded in 13 hydrometric stations.

The authorities will consolidate and lift the dams to prevent flooding. The highest risks are reported for the southern counties Ialomita, Calarasi, Galati, Mehedinti and Tulcea.
