The Romanian Senate ratified on Wednesday the privatization strategy of the National Lottery that entails the transfer of 20 per cent of the shares to Proprietatea Fund, and fiveper cent to be traded on stock change market. The same strategy applies to the National Printing House.

Before coming into force, the strategy must be first endorsed by the House of Deputies.

The shares transfer to the Proprietatea Fund was a subject that sparked debates within the Senate, hence the vote balance of 49 in favour and 26 against.

Initially, the strategy proposed by the Govt. entailed 20 per cent to be transferred to Proprietatea, 5 per cent to be traded on the stock market, and 7 per cent to be granted to the employees. The strategy presented in the Senate deprived the employees of those 7 per cent.
