The Bucharest Stock Exchange suspended on Friday the transactions with Rompetrol Rafinare shares (RRC) shortly before the Bucharest Appeals Court commenced judging the appeal regarding the investigation of businessman Dinu Patriciu at large.

Patriciu came to the court Friday, one week after the court postponed an appeal filed by prosecutors against a previous Bucharest Tribunal decision not to preventively arrest Romanian businessman pending a trial under organized crime and other charges.

The court is to rule today if the appeal concerns Patriciu’s partners Phil Stevenson and Colin Hart as well.

Last Friday, the judge ruled that there was a procedure fault regarding the investigation under arrest of the two partners, as requested by the General Prosecutor’s Office .

From the beginning of this year, the RRC shares dropped approximately 25 per cent down to 0.88 lei/share.
